From 2008 to 2019, Greg served as Chief Operating Officer, President, and ultimately Publisher (CEO) of IDW Publishing, guiding the company through a period of explosive growth across books, games, and entertainment. Under his leadership, IDW rose to become the fourth-largest U.S. comic book publisher, while expanding its footprint in licensed and creator-driven content.
During his career, Greg has developed hundreds of successful creative and commercial strategies for many of the world’s most recognizable entertainment brands, including Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, Star Trek, James Bond, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, and Godzilla.

Greg is an Eisner Award–winning editor, recognized in 2011 for his work on the first-ever collected edition of Bob Montana’s Archie newspaper comic strips, published under IDW’s Library of American Comics imprint.
Prior to IDW, Greg was Vice President of Entertainment and Gaming at Upper Deck, where he oversaw a blockbuster portfolio of games including Yu-Gi-Oh!, World of Warcraft, and the VS System. During this time, he created Marvel Ultimate Battles, the first game focused exclusively on Marvel’s mass-media characters.
Earlier, as Vice President of Brand Development at Activision (2000–2002), Greg forged strategic partnerships with major Hollywood studios and worked directly with Marvel Entertainment to help transform Spider-Man into one of the most successful licensed video game franchises in interactive entertainment history.
Greg’s career also includes a pivotal role at Topps, where he helped launch and manage Topps Comics in the mid-1990s.
A frequent guest lecturer at San Diego State University, Greg has spoken on dozens of panels and conferences across the United States. His teaching experience includes appointments as a lecturer and adjunct professor at New York University, Hofstra University, SUNY Purchase, and Iona College. From 2015 to 2019, he served on the board of advisers for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF).
